China has blacklisted US ,Israeli, and French cybersecurity products, citing ‘national security concerns’

Chinese authorities have instructed domestic companies to stop using cybersecurity software from the United States, Israel, and France due to national security concerns.

The blacklisted cybersecurity software is reportedly from Alphabet (Mandiant and Wiz), Broadcom (VMware), Cato Networks, Check Point Software Technologies, Claroty, CrowdStrike, CyberArk, Fortinet, Imperva, McAfee, Orca Security, Palo Alto Networks, Rapid7, Recorded Future, SentinelOne, and VMware.

Israeli policy in West Bank ‘resembles apartheid’

A UN Human Rights report published Wednesday, January 7, 2026, concludes that Israel is violating international law prohibiting racial segregation and apartheid in the occupied West Bank. The findings reveal “a systematic asphyxiation of the rights of Palestinians in the West Bank.”

Volker Türk, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, warned, “This is a particularly severe form of racial discrimination and segregation that resembles the kind of apartheid system we have seen before”.

Cargo ship ‘Fitburg’ en route from Russia sabotaged an undersea cable in the Gulf of Finland

A cargo vessel severed an undersea telecommunications cable in the Gulf of Finland on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, around 4:53 a.m. local time. Finnish police said they suspected this was an act of sabotage.

The cargo ship ‘Fitburg’ was en route from Saint Petersburg, Russia to the port in Haifa, Israel when it damaged an undersea cable connecting the capitals of Helsinki, Finland and Tallinn, Estonia. The vessel was sailing under the flag of St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the time of the incident.
